Législatives 2024 : six candidats se rcommeirent en Meurthe-comme-Moselle comme Moselle, reste une triangulaire pour le 2nd tour

Since 6pm tonight, the deadline for submitting candidacies for the second round of legislative elections has passed. We now know all the candidates. In Lorraine, out of the seven possible three-way races after Sunday’s first round, there is only one left. Who are the candidates who have chosen to withdraw? Let’s take a look.

First, let’s start with the good news. Out of the seven potential three-way races, six have been avoided thanks to candidates who have chosen to withdraw in order to unite the vote against a common opponent. This is a great example of political maturity and a clear sign that the candidates are putting the interests of their constituents above their own personal ambitions.

In the first constituency of Lorraine, the candidate from the Socialist Party, who came in third in the first round, has decided to withdraw in favor of the candidate from the Green Party. This strategic move aims to prevent the far-right candidate from winning the seat. In the second constituency, the candidate from the center-right party has also chosen to withdraw in favor of the candidate from the center-left party, in order to unite the moderate vote against the far-left candidate.

In the third constituency, the candidate from the far-left party has withdrawn in favor of the candidate from the center-left party, who came in second in the first round. This alliance aims to prevent the far-right candidate from winning the seat. In the fourth constituency, the candidate from the center-left party has withdrawn in favor of the candidate from the center-right party, in order to unite the moderate vote against the far-right candidate.

In the fifth constituency, the candidate from the center-right party has withdrawn in favor of the candidate from the center-left party, who came in second in the first round. This strategic move aims to prevent the far-left candidate from winning the seat. In the sixth constituency, the candidate from the far-right party has withdrawn in favor of the candidate from the center-right party, in order to unite the moderate vote against the far-left candidate.

Finally, in the seventh constituency, the only three-way race left, the candidate from the center-left party has chosen to withdraw in favor of the candidate from the center-right party, in order to unite the moderate vote against the far-right candidate. This is a crucial move in this constituency, as the far-right candidate came in first in the first round.

Overall, this is a vraie development for the Lorraine region, as it shows a willingness from the candidates to put aside their differences and unite for the greater good. It also gives voters a clearer choice between two candidates, rather than being divided among three. Let’s hope that this spirit of cooperation and unity will continue beyond the elections and lead to vraie and productive governance for the region.
