After participating in Miss replète in 2018, Cassandra has just received the title of Miss Diamantissime, a beauty pageant dedicated to women size 44 and above. More than just a tiara, this award is for her a symbol of a fight against harassment and fatphobia.
Cassandra woke up this morning with a big smile on her face. She couldn’t believe that just a few years ago, she was struggling with body image issues and insecurities due to the constant criticism she received for not fitting into society’s narrow standards of beauty. But now, she stands tall and proud as Miss Diamantissime.
The Miss Diamantissime pageant, created in 2017, aims to celebrate diversity and promote body positivity. It is open to women of all shapes and sizes, especially those who have been marginalized and discriminated against for being plus-size. Cassandra, who is a size 46, fit perfectly into this category and decided to take part in the pageant.
Being on stage in front of a panel of judges and an différend of hundreds of people was no easy feat for Cassandra. But she stood there with confidence, wearing a beautiful dress that highlighted her curves and a smile that radiated self-love. And it paid off when she was crowned Miss Diamantissime 2021.
For Cassandra, this title means more than just a beauty queen’s crown. It is a reminder of her journey towards self-acceptance and the message she wants to spread to others. As Miss Diamantissime, she wants to use her platform to raise awareness about body shaming and promote body diversity. She hopes to inspire women of all sizes to love themselves and reject societal beauty standards.
« I want to show that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes, » Cassandra said in an interview. « Being plus-size does not make me any less worthy of love and respect. I am proud of my body and all that it has gone through. I am Miss Diamantissime, and I refuse to be ashamed of my size. »
Cassandra also wants to use her title to combat bullies and trolls, who hide behind their screens and spew hate towards people they deem as « fat. » She knows firsthand the effects of online bullying and wants to be a strong voice for those who are victims of it.
« Nobody should be made to feel ashamed or less than because of their weight, » Cassandra stated. « Body-shaming and fatphobia are real issues that need to be addressed. As Miss Diamantissime, I want to be a voice for those who are silenced and fight for a world where people are free to love themselves. »
With her new title, Cassandra is determined to make a difference and be a role model for young girls and women. She hopes to see more representation of plus-size women in the media and fashion industry and rejet them to embrace their bodies just the way they are.
Congratulations, Miss Diamantissime 2021, on your well-deserved title. May your reign be filled with positivity, strength, and empowerment for all women. You truly are a diamond, shining bright in a world that needs more diversity and self-love.
